ESSO x MTV Music x mtvU

“New York, New York”; which is a visual ode to the Big Apple, is currently taking new heights with a recent addition to the MTV Networks. The song was produced by Rena1ssance and the video was directed by Puma (The Program, LLC). The visuals were entirely shot in Manhattan and the video was influenced by Woody Allen’s “Manhattan” movie.

The video is currently playing within mtvU music hours, which is throughout the day and available on mtvu.com as well as mtvmusic.com

Why I  chose  to make a song about the Big Apple: “New York, New York big city of dreams, the city so nice they named it twice. The home of over 8 million stories. There have been so many different representations of New York over the years in films, music videos and photos that I finally felt like it was time for me to show the city in my own way. There’s something about New York that both natives and people that move here understand. There’s no other city in the world that exists on the scale of New York. [...]This is the New York that I want to show, the iconic city that never sleeps, the Manhattan that Woody Allen saw in Black & White…the greatest city in the world.”

A few words from Puma, the Video Director: “I am humbled that MTV see’s the vision that Esso and I have worked hard on worthy enough to share with its viewers. There’s a lot more to come.“

Make sure to watch “New York, New York”

ESSO X Sister 2 Sister Online Magazine Article

I’m currently mentioned in an article on Sister 2 Sister Online Magazine about the Def Jam Rap Star Game: http://www.s2smagazine.com/node/3095

The game which will hit stores October 5, offers a freestyle mode that lets players spit bars over their own beats crafted by world-famous producers.

Def Jam featured me to inspire other aspiring rappers to submit their own music videos.
