Gotta thank “The Morning After” team Angela, Wonder and Moti for extending an invitation for me to come up to SHADE45 every wednesday for the next 3 months to talk about what I have going on. Here’s the footage from the first week of the show.,.This was when I debuted “Don’t Stop” on SHADE45 last wednesday (July 15th) best moment was when Los from Baltimore called in… “you original than a motherfucker” hahaha that was classic
ESSO – Girlfriend (Off The Wall E009)

We’re less than 3 weeks away from the official release of Off The Wall (August 10th)!!! this is one of my favorite songs from the project and probably the one that bothered me the most to listen to after Mike passed because of how much I love the original and how crazy it was for me to hear our voices together on the record… Based on a true story, the names have been withheld to protect the innocent (and the guilty haha)
Why Despicable E?
I aint gonna lie, I check comments on blogs sometimes, and more often than not, I feel like the motives behind certain things that I may do get misunderstood. I even saw something said about this track that said that this isnt a race to be the first person to record over this track…
Nah you’re right, it’s not about that at all, but I’ve had a lot of things goin on around me recently that have kinda made me feel like I’m the bad guy no matter how good my intentions may be. So when I heard the track that Pharrell did for the soundtrack to the movie, it kinda perfectly matched how I was feeling at the time.
From the impending controversy with my Off The Wall project to the fact that I’m not trying to follow the mold of a “traditional” New York artist, to the fact that tryin to be successful takes me away from my family all the time…all of these things were on my mind, and I tried to put that all together in a way that was pretty easily digestible but still has some gems in there for those of you who like your verses to have some shit tucked away like easter eggs.
Do I apologize for it? NOPE. Do I give a fuck if it’s misunderstood? NOPE. Despicable Me. Fuck it.

Off The Wall E009…The Announcement. RIP MJ 1958-2009

This is one of the hardest things that I’ve ever had to do in my career. I was scheduled to announce this project on Wednesday of this week, but in light of Michael’s passing on Thursday Woody & I feel like the world needs to know what we’ve been working on for the last few months and why this has been so hard for me to deal with. I’ve been recording my own version of MJ’s Off The Wall album for the last few months now in honor of it’s 30th Anniversary which is on August 10th, and will release it 30 years to the day his original album came out.
We actually completed the project before his passing, and will not change the date to even 1 day earlier given the signifigance of August 10th as the 30th Anniversary of the release of the original Off The Wall album in 1979.
The First Single off the Project is “Dont Stop” which samples “Dont Stop Til You Get Enough” which is actually the first song on the album. Here’s the link:

Please see the video as we have included snippets of a few of the songs also and if you have any questions please feel free to let me know.
I also made a statement regarding Mike’s passing on Thursday if you’d like to refer back to that here’s the link: http://theessoexperience.com/2009/06/25/rest-in-peace-michael-jackson-long-live-the-king-of-pop/
Thanks,

Rest in Peace Michael Jackson, Long Live The King Of Pop
By now we’ve all heard the tragic news of the passing of Michael Jackson. Michael was and always will be one of my biggest inspirations musically, as I’m sure he is for many artists. As entertainers this day will go down in history as the day we lost one of the greatest entertainers in the history or entertainment.
2 months ago, I set out to recreate one of Michael’s most important albums: Off The Wall. My reasons for undertaking this projects were many. Off The Wall was a huge point of evolution in Michael’s career, his first time working with Quincy Jones and also his “Coming Of Age” in front of the world’s eyes. In much the same way, this project is intended to be the same thing for me. Musically we wanted to show that such an important album has inspired so many different people in so many different ways, and it was an incredible process sampling and re-imagining the album.
Due to the fact that Michael is no longer with us to receive this tribute I want to be very clear in saying in no way am I trying to capitalize on his death with this project. This is something that I’ve been excited about ever since I came up with the concept for it. Now that I’ve seen it come to life I feel like it’s even more important for it to be heard as a testament to just how much Michael has inspired generations of artists and will to continue to inspire further generations.
I hope more than anything that you will accept this project for what it is: A project inspired by one of the greatest. PERIOD. We are all affected by this one way or another. Michael’s legacy will never die. We won’t let it. With that said, Off The Wall will live again on the 30th anniversary of its original release August 10th, 2009.

RapMullet.com Reviews Lifestyles of the Young & Ignorant (3.5/4 Tapes)

Every time I put out a project, from the very beginning of my career, RapMullet.com has been one of the places that I turn to for unbiased, brutally honest, “we’re not sugarcoating shit for you” critique and review of my music. One of the things that I pride myself on is striving towards getting a perfect rating (4 of 4 tapes). So far before the Lifestyles of the Young & Ignorant EP review, I had 3 projects that were each rated 3.5/4. But y’all already know the tattoo, “Great is Not Good Enough” so I want that 4.
